Cavvy's cake, now open source :)

We had been to Cavvy's place this Christmas, a gang of ten people. And aunty was extremely kind make infi dinner for all of us. Dinner was a sumptuous delight consisting of veg and egg noodles, macaroons, biscuits, cookies and infi cake!!!

Since that day on, I have been badgering and pestering Cavvy to give me the recipe of the gr8 chocolate cake and after a whole semester of begging him, he finally gave it to me.

This is a cake that will put Monginis to shame. It had a delicious layer of cream all over it. Aaaah, finger-licking pleasure. I would like to share the recipe:

Ingredients:

1.5 cups (140 gms) maida

1 cup (150 gms) thick curd

0.75 cup (100 gms) sugar (grain and powdered)

0.5 cup (65 gms) oil

1 tsp baking powder, 0.5 tsp soda

1 tsp vanilla

(These quantities are for a small sized cake; for a larger cake double the above quantities( except for the baking pwd and soda, use 1.5 tsp baking pwd and 0.75 tsp soda))

Procedure:

Remove 6 tsp(3 tablespoons) maida and replace it with 6 tsp(3 tablespoons) of cocoa. Sieve the flour mixture well and keep aside.

Mix sugar and curd till sugar dissolves

Add baking powder and soda. Mix well. Let it stand for 2-3 mins. Bubbles will appear.

Add oil, mix well, add essence, add maida, mix well.

The mixture should be of dropping consistency. If too thick, add more curd.

Put in greased tin.

Preheat owen to 210 deg, lower to 150 deg.

Enjoy!!!!
